As you’ll remember, nearly four years ago now, Teresa (15 months) and Joe (41 months) were handed prison time after pleading guilty to mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud.
And while Teresa successfully completed her sentence in December 2015, Joe has about 13 months left to serve before he can come home.
But the state of New Jersey and the Internal Revenue Service are already paving the way for the family to get on with their lives: as of now, the bankruptcy portion of the case has been dismissed against the reality TV pair!
And those two aforementioned state and federal organizations are the only ones to whom the Giudices still owe money — keeping it simple and lining up their responsibilities to be over and done with as soon as possible!
Reportedly, the couple has been making good for their crimes by being on re-payment arrangements with both the IRS and the N.J. Department of Treasury; they are up-to-date and scheduled with both entities, and before too long this whole thing may just be behind them…

As we’ve been reporting, Teresa is now a bodybuilder — and Joe has reportedly lost a TON of weight in prison himself — so the pair may be in for quite a bit of a rebirth in another year’s time!
