Heres one more reason to get your butt off the sofa: Watching too much TV can lower your sperm counting, recent research from Denmark suggests.

In the study, men who logged 5 or more hours of TV per day had 29 percentage lower sperm concentration and 34 percentage lower sperm countings than men who didnt watch any TV.

That dip may make it more difficult to father small children, tells investigate coauthor Laerke Priskorn, Ph.D .( c) of the University of Copenhagen.

Interestingly, men who played on the computer for the same quantity of timeanother activity where you remain parked on your buttdidnt experience a drop in those semen parameters.

Researchers arent sure yet what it is about TV specifically thats so harmful to your sperm.

Its a more passive activity than use personal computers, Priskorn tells, and you might take more active breakings from personal computers than you would from TV.

Its possible that all the stillness increases the temperature in your scrotum, which can mess with sperm production, she says.
