Lena Dunham Is Living Her Best Life Endometriosis-Free After Undergoing FIVE Surgeries!

Awesome news!

The actress has been candid about suffered by the disease and the chronic pain that has plagued her for so long.

She even got super active( which got her skinny-shamed by some of her devotees and adherents) and tried a holistic diet in an attempt to curb the symptoms, but to no avail.

In a new Lenny Letter, she wrote:

“My surgery went off without a hitch. When I emerged, cotton-mouthed, Randy told me something I hadn’t expected to hear, perhaps ever: there was no endometriosis left. Between my surgeries and hormonal intervention, I was disease-free. That doesn’t mean it can never return, but for now, once my sutures have been removed and my bruises have changed from blue to yellow to green to turn, I will be healthy.”

Fuck yeah !!!

She continued, speaking frankly about ache in all its forms 😛 TAGEND

“All that will remain[ now] is my long-term relationship with ache, and it’s time to get real about that. My ache physical confused from my deeper ache emotional, spiritual and became the ultimate apologize. I had two modes: operate and suffer. I was convinced there was nobility in it. There was surely routine.”

The Girls creator expressed that she still has to come to terms with this new, albeit better, reality, telling 😛 TAGEND

“Now, because of the unbelievable privilege of having thoughtful physicians, my body has been granted a reprieve. And I’m embarrassed to say that the exhilaration is mixed with loss. Pain and illness defined a time in my life.”

But she’s not sitting around feeling sorry for herself. Quite the contrary! She said 😛 TAGEND

“So many people who suffer will never have the resources I’ve had. My task is to educate people, to try to change the pathetic absence of resources for endometriosis, but it’s also to seize this endowment. I’ll be more useful that way.”

Right on!

She has a powerful voice that can be used for good, and the ability to raise awareness of an illness that plagues so many women.

We’re positive she’ll continue to champion this cause whether her endometriosis returns or not. We certainly hope it doesn’t, though!

You keep battle, daughter!
